Wanderlusting - Touristing http://wanderlusting.org/taxonomy/term/30/0 en Mexico City Sights: Introduction http://wanderlusting.org/blog/brook/mexico-city-sights-introduction
Hello all! My time in Mexico is winding down. I have only 3 months left on my contract, and then will be moving to NY where my fella lives. I have been thinking about what is on my "list"-- things I want to make sure I do before I leave. I was recently at a happy hour for NGO workers and environmentalists, and another gringa I chatted with mentioned that she was thinking about her list as well. I also recently had some visitors with whom I saw some of the basic sights again, and loved them just as much-- or more!-- than the first or second (or third) time(s).

http://wanderlusting.org/blog/brook/mexico-city-sights-introduction#comments Latin America/Caribbean Spanish Touristing Wed, 25 Jun 2008 00:01:41 +0000 Brook 456 at http://wanderlusting.org Send the Travel Writers to Hell! or Nothing like a Rip Off to Ruin a Trip http://wanderlusting.org/blog/greg/send-travel-writers-hell-or-nothing-a-rip-off-ruin-a-trip
After having some great times living in Argentina we wanted to end our trip on a travel binge (note the important difference between living somewhere and travelling somewhere). So, we headed north on the so-called "Gringo Trail." After spending months reading various travel books and getting excited about the trip we set off. Who knew that in a few months time we would hate those travel writers for the inaccuracy of their data and the exaggeration of their prose?

http://wanderlusting.org/blog/greg/send-travel-writers-hell-or-nothing-a-rip-off-ruin-a-trip#comments Knaddison Spanish Tour English Did that ever happen to you? We started at Hostel El Gaucho, which was friendly, but realized that the double room with private bath there was only US$3 cheaper than full hotel living at Hotel Cambria - so we moved :)

http://wanderlusting.org/blog/nikki/bariloche-and-neuquen-the-northern-end-patagonia#comments Knaddison Spanish Tour English Latin America/Caribbean Touristing Tue, 15 Apr 2008 18:14:57 +0000 Nikki 401 at http://wanderlusting.org Vines of Mendoza - A Sanctuary for Argentine Wine Lovers http://wanderlusting.org/blog/nikki/vines-mendoza-sanctuary-argentine-wine-lovers
The Vines of Mendoza is a truly amazing gathering place for wine lovers. That was the theory of my New London Tours guide, and it certainly was true. Offered daily at 10am, the tour was one of the best tours I've ever been on. My particular 3-hour tour covered all of the basics in old London including: Saint Paul's Cathedral, London Bridge, Shakespeare's Globe theater, Covent Gardens, Church of the Knights Templar, Trafalgar Square, and Westminster Abbey.

http://wanderlusting.org/blog/nikki/great-city-tour-london#comments English Europe Touristing Sun, 09 Dec 2007 17:00:57 +0000 Nikki 280 at http://wanderlusting.org solidarity with other central american travelers http://wanderlusting.org/solidarity-with-other-central-american-travelers
Some good friends of ours have just begun a trip of about 6 months through Central America. Their goal is go learn Spanish really well, do some volunteer work to help improve the environment, and/or socio-political system, and to have a little fun as well.

Central American Travel Blog

They have set up a nice travel blog to cover their trip and even have a first post from guatemala. Great news!

Rain Skirts - Like Rain Pants - but way better

They are also working on and planning the basis for a really innovative company selling Rain Skirts which is a functional and fashionable alternative to a trench coat or rain pants. It's a great idea and nearing full fruition which is very exciting as well.

So, congrats the Reid and Libby for their boldness and dedication to their dreams. It's really cool to see these things coming together for them and to support them in the process.

http://wanderlusting.org/solidarity-with-other-central-american-travelers#comments English Advice Latin America/Caribbean Touristing Volunteer Work Fri, 23 Feb 2007 15:53:57 +0000 greg 186 at http://wanderlusting.org
