Alhambra views

So basically, I am looking out of my hotel window (laying in bed with wifi action) to the lit up view of...the Alhambra. Not too shabby. We are staying at the beautiful Hotel Casa Morisca, near the Arab quarter of Granada, the Albaycin. Our hotel is centered around a courtyard with a Moorish-influenced fountain, which is to say that it's very subtle but effective. The rooms are amazingly cozy and fit in exactly the style you would hope that a hotel at the base of the Alhambra would be. This morning we headed to the Alhambra for the second time in our lives, and it's such an amazing place that you can't take it in on one visit, which is why we simply had to come back here. My favorite part of the day was seeing the restored bath house, especially after my own brush with a bath house in Cordoba as well as learning about the importance of the bath house as described in our our tour in Tangiers. The bath house was a social center for the community, as well as a means for physical and spiritual purification. The Nasrid palaces were clearly pretty incredible as well.
