Some graffiti that appeared around Vendimia time in Mendoza: Vendimia...one queen, a thousand slaves. My guess is that the statement refers to the poor working conditions and low wages of the harvest workers picking grapes. There seems to be a dark underbelly of the wine industry in its treatment of its workers, often seasonal migrant laborers from Bolivia.
