Altitude sickness or wishing to travel without a boyfriend??

We spent the night on an island on Lake Titicaca last night. We stayed with a family but i woke up in the middle of the night and vomited several times...not sure if it was from the altitude (which I doubt) or the food we ate with the families. They mainly just served us little tiny potatos and eggs because they do not eat meat but it could have been the water we drank with the tea.

We are back on the mainland now in the town of Puno and were sucked into a club for the free drink they promised us outside so i just had one free rum and coke (Cuba Libre if you will) and i feel shaky and wheezy. that is the altitude, we are almost at 15,000 feet.

we met these 3 really cool English guys and just had dinner and hung out with them. We were on a mission for the cheapest meal, which turned out to be chicken and fries. If this were another world and I was traveling with Brook, we would be flirting with these boys. But alas, I am traveling with my boyfriend so it is a much different experience. We said goodbye to the boys and now my boyfriend is playing street fighter while I email. Aren't we exciting and fun??

But tomorrow we are off to Bolivia! and we are headed towards Travis. Travis or bust!

I am a little worried as reports from other travelers have been that roads are unstable and they had to fly at some points, and we are taking the bus there and back and the frontier is the worst. We have to cross the frontier and then it is a 4 day bus ride to where Travis lives. Crazily enough, I am sort of looking forward to 4 days on the bus.

I feel ill right now, the rum and coke I guess. I have to go.
