Actually, these are just ridiculous planters in the new Terminal 2 of Benito Juarez International. I think the new airport terminal itself is a little bit ridic too, mostly because there is no publicity about which terminal you have to go to pick someone up, and the Metro only goes to Terminal 1. Terminal 2 was finished within the last six months, but there isn't even really anything on the internet about it!

Once my fella came to visit, and he arrived at Terminal 2. It was late evening and the shuttle between the two had closed, and I was waiting at Terminal 1, while he wandered aimlessly at Terminal 2. Finally, a taxi driver took pity on him and called my cell phone on his own cell phone to figure things out. Who says people aren't friendly in Mexico City? The problems have more to do with infrastructure and public officials than individual DF-residents, in my experience.

I think I finally just understood this photo - it's you taking a drink from a giant styrofoam coffee cup!
